CONCLUDING REMARKS/TIPS
There is a strong need to communicate the efforts showed by the Ceramic District in exploring and applying the eco management and audit tool to a broader public – first and foremost, to local, national and European institutions. The EMAS logo enables a form of business communication which is directed towards consumers and complements the EU-wide product environmental certification (Eco-label).

Another very interesting element introduced by the EMAS II Regulation is the explicit mention of involving the employees of a company applying for the EMAS registration at every stage of the registration process. Such initiatives are extremely important because they put into effect the Corporate Social Responsibility dimension, thereby creating a climate of solidarity and co-operation within the company. They also provide a further guarantee to citizens about the seriousness of the company’s commitment to environmental improvements. It would therefore be desirable for the proactive companies in the ceramic tiles sector to undertake specific training and communication actions to this end.
