EVENTS/INITIATIVES
The Ceramic Pole Agency (Agenzia Polo Ceramico) was constituted to manage the diffusion of activities regarding innovation technology and to promote the cultural and economic valorisation of the national ceramic district companies with respect to their artistic, craft and industrial elements and also to advanced ceramic materials. It is considered the link between the worlds of research and production. Among its main activities are: experimentation and laboratory research; a technological help-desk (data banks, consultancy services); training; and promotion and technology transfer (products and process innovation). The Agency’s operations are linked with the ceramic district structures at national and international levels, in particular with CNR, Enea and universities.

The Institute for the Science and Technology of Ceramic Materials (ISTITUTO DI SCIENZA E TECNOLOGIA DEI MATERIALI CERAMICI – ISTEC) of Faenza is the only research structure of the CNR – the National Research Council – operating in Italy with multi-year programming specifically addressed to the global study of ceramic materials, in particular advanced ones. At present the IRTEC has a staff of thirty people, including researchers, graduates and technicians.

Link up is a service for companies and the public research sector. Conceived in order to facilitate access to competencies and to research structures present in the territory of Emilia-Romagna, its intention is to underline potential forms of collaboration between companies, major universities in the region (Bologna, Parma, Modena and Reggio Emilia and Ferrara), the CNR and the ENEA. Link up offers companies and public research bodies an primary orientation informative service and a technical assistance service that allows the possibility of contacting staff via e-mail or by calling 051-6398099.
