DIALOGUE FOR SUSTAINABILITY
Among the most urgent tasks of designers and companies is that of finding a common ground thanks to which it would be possible to overcome the cultural gap that in the past clashed with the development of a balanced and reciprocal relationship. In this sense, the efforts made in the direction of sustainability constitute an incredible opportunity for both parties.

On one hand, as we have seen, they push designers to take into account aspects related to the manufacture, distribution and marketing of products that until recently received less consideration in the design process. With respect to companies, on the other hand, they give a clear frame of reference (even though at times complex and for the medium term) for their interaction with designers. Thanks to this operation companies will be pushed quite naturally into considering the role of design strategically and opening new channels of dialogue with designers (in the double role of consultant and opinion-makers/clients).

In the ceramic sector there are many examples of companies where this process has been carried out successfully (for details turn to the case studies of the section Sustainability is NOW).
