| The hotel in question is one of the eight hotels of the chain Una Hotels & Resorts, built in an ex industrial area, situated at the borders of the San Frediano area, a picturesque area on the Arno river side. The project for the interior, carried out by Fabio Novembre, began with the idea of transforming the hotel into a vivacious area, not only as a place to sleep, but a place to live all day long.
Novembre’s style represents the perfect translation in architectonic terms of the emotional concept that Una Hotels’ new brand revolves around. It can be described as excessive, experimental, anti-minimalist and provocative; some consider it kitsch, others describe it as 'cool'.
The designer likes to underline his own remoteness from rules and inspirational masters: “For me, the best architecture is like a woman’s body, which has the maximum resolution of three-dimensionality. My work is totally organic.” It is an exultation of sinuous forms and deep colours where mosaics are constantly re-occurring. Since the year 2000, Novembre has become art director at Bisazza.
It was not by chance that the young architect and the firm Bisazza met, seeing the mosaics’ aptitude in covering the soft and sensual curves that are so characteristic of the young architect’s work. Even the interior of the Una Hotel of Florence there is an obvious play on passions, obtaining a full involvement on the part of the guests. |
