The word to the images

S_TILES and Miro Zagnoli can be considered without any doubt an inevitable encounter. In fact, the project and the choice of the photographer can be seen inseparable. The objective was to communicate messages of institutional debate where concepts like sustainability, eco-efficiency and social responsibility drag all the complexity of the discussion itself and bring up bureaucratic aspects typical of any process of regulation.

Certain concepts then become a sort of mantra, repeated at every conference, meeting, seminar, television show and web site. They contribute to a superficial spread of ‘trendy words’ and not to a real sharing of ideas that are ‘felt’ and chosen.
On the contrary, the path towards sustainability is based on the need to start important partnerships among different actors who are moved by conflicting interests. We realized right away that giving an important role to photography, a specific type of photography, could help us. As a matter of fact, the type of photography we are referring to could help us give a new meaning and contest to those concepts thanks to their real applications. Here comes in place the reason why Miro Zagnoli was chosen. As a matter of fact, he is used to capturing images and creating contests in which places, objects and human presence are neither deducted nor descriptive.
